Make A Plan to Vote

While the COVID crisis continues, it is more important than ever to make a plan to vote in the upcoming elections. All elections have real-world consequences for you and your family, and this year there’s even more at stake. While we say every election is important, this year’s election will be the most important vote in your lifetime. It is imperative that you exercise your rights and make a plan to vote.

Election day is Tuesday, November 3, 2020, but you do not have to wait until then to vote!

From September 19 through October 31, 2020, you can vote early at your local registrar’s office to avoid the crowds and lines on election day. Alternatively, you can vote by mail or fill out a ballot at home and drop it off at your local registrar. If you are not yet registered to vote, you can register online until October 13, 2020.

Whether you vote early, vote by mail, or wait in line to vote on election day November 3rd, the most important thing is that you vote. As part of our union family, your voice and your opinion matter.

Do not let this election pass you by without making your voice heard.

You must be registered to vote by October 13, 2020 to vote.

Vote Early

Vote early in person at your local registrar’s office or a satellite location September 19 – October 31, 2020. You do not need to have a reason or fill out an application to vote early.

Vote By Mail

Request a mail ballot by October 23, 2020. Carefully review the instructions to complete and return your ballot to your local registrar by 7:00 p.m. on November 3, 2020. You can drop off your ballot at your local registrar or mail it in.

Note:

  • Remember to sign the back of the ballot
  • When requesting a mail-in ballot, be sure to use your mailing address, not your registration address
  • No witness is needed (some jurisdictions are still using old formats where witness signatures are on the ballot, but a witness signature is no longer required)
  • Your mailed ballot must be postmarked on or before November 3, 2020 and received by your registrar by November 6, 2020.
