Petition by the Apothecarium Burtonsville Team Regarding Recent Security Decisions Petition: We, the undersigned members of the Apothecarium Burtonsville team, are concerned about the employment and staffing decisions made at our location. During the week of January 6th, we were informed by management that the security guard positions at our location had been eliminated and that the important safety function that they fill – pursuant to Maryland law – will be transferred onto members of our staff as an additional responsibility on top of our current contracted employment duties. We disagree with the management decision to delegate responsibilities to us that are beyond the original scope of our employment without additional compensation. We request that management reinstate security professionals separate from that of our current team members (including, but not limited to, Wellness Associates, Inventory Specialists, Floor Supervisors, and Retail Operations) or increase our pay commensurate to the additional responsibilities provided to us.
