The UFCW Minority Coalition Donald L. Cash, Sr. Memorial Scholarship provides merit-based scholarships for postsecondary education (university, college, and trade school).

Applications are open to members of the UFCW Minority Coalition, UFCW staff, and their spouse or dependent child (as defined by IRS regulations).

Important Dates

The scholarship application opens for submissions on June 19, 2026 and closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on August 1, 2026. Decisions will be made by August 31, 2026 and award recipients will be notified via email.

Awards

Awards begin at $1,000 and are non-recurring. These one-time awards are for study beginning in the fall semester. Eligible applicants may re-apply each year.

A total of $10,000 per year will be awarded to qualified individuals to take specific courses that may improve one’s ability to perform their current job function or to prepare an individual for future career advancement within the labor movement. The maximum amount awarded for individual classes will not exceed $750.00
