After months of negotiations – and the strong solidarity shown by caregivers at the bargaining table and on the picket line – your UFCW bargaining team can announce that we have reached a tentative agreement with Kaiser Permanente.

The tentative agreement reflects the priorities members raised throughout this process: fair wages, protecting benefits, and strengthening our collective power moving forward.

What We Won

The agreement includes 21.5% in wage increases over four years, with the majority of increases coming early in the agreement:

  • 6.5% in March 2026
  • 6.5% in October 2026
  • 3% in August 2027
  • 2.5% in October 2027
  • 3% in October 2028

The agreement also includes additional wage grid and market adjustments across classifications.

The agreement also includes AI language to help shape and safeguard the future of healthcare workers.

Finally, we were able to achieve contract alignment and a common expiration date across all UFCW Locals, strengthening our ability to move forward together in future negotiations.

What We Protected

The agreement also preserves important benefits members rely on, including pensions and employer contributions, the partnership agreement, and additional funding for the Ben Hudnall Trust Fund.

What Happens Next

Locals will soon share more information about the tentative agreement, including opportunities for members to review the details, ask questions, and participate in ratification meetings.

As always, this is your contract and your decision. Nothing goes into effect unless members vote to ratify the agreement.

Thank you for your solidarity and your patience throughout these negotiations.
