Last week, Shoppers Food parent company, United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI), discovered a cyberattack that has caused a system outage affecting payroll.

While the company addresses the system outage, Shoppers will be running payroll this week using estimated hours as follows:

  • If you receive direct deposit, your pay will reflect what you earned the previous payroll week, May 24, 2025.
  • If you receive a paper check, part-timers will receive a minimum of 20 hours this week (even if you work less) and full-timers will receive a minimum of 40 hours this week (even if you worked less).
  • Taxes will be taken out, however, healthcare and 401k will not. This will be adjusted when the system is back up and running.

UNFI will reconcile the difference in payroll to ensure every employee is made whole as soon as possible once the system outage has been addressed.
