UFCW Local 400 Members Achieve Pension and Other Improvements

Members of UFCW Local 400 serving as Takoma Park, Md. Police Officers have unanimously ratified a strong new three-year collective bargaining agreement that achieves important gains that have long been priorities for them.

The contract provides for:

  • Pension modifications increasing the multiplier and reducing the years of service required, a major long-term objective of the officers.
  • Cost of Living Adjustments for each year of the agreement.
  • Increased personal days.
  • Increased clothing allowance.
  • Increased premium for shift differential.

“I want to congratulate the Takoma Park Police Officers on winning their new collective bargaining agreement,” said UFCW Local 400 President Mark P. Federici. “Thanks to their activism and solidarity, they achieved important advances that will improve their lives, working conditions and retirement security. Both they and the people of Takoma Park they serve and protect will be the better for it.”

The contract covers approximately 25 police officers in the City of Takoma Park, Md.
