WASHINGTON, DC (February 25, 2026) — Today, Today, United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 400 Union, which has approximately 1,600 members in the District, announced its endorsement of Dyana Forester for DC Council At-Large.
“Dyana has a long history with UFCW Local 400 and we are proud to endorse her for DC Council At-Large,” said Mark Federici, President of United Food & Commercial Workers Local 400 Union. “Dyana is a lifelong advocate for working families and has dedicated her entire career to serving others. As a director at UFCW Local 400, and later President of the Washington Metropolitan Labor Council, she worked to improve the lives of our members and all workers in the District, successfully advocating for groundbreaking policies such as paid sick leave, paid family and medical leave, raising the minimum wage, and more. Dyana doesn’t just fight for change, she delivers it, and I have no doubt that Washingtonians will be better off with her on the council.”
UFCW Local 400 was joined by several other local unions in announcing their endorsement today, including: American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), District 14; United Association of Apprenticeships Plumbers & Gasfitters of Local 5; United Association of Apprenticeships Steamfitters Local 602; and Mid-Atlantic Pipe Trades Association.
