UNFI, the parent company of Shoppers Food, has announced plans to close four more Shoppers stores in the DMV region on November 8. In fact, since UNFI purchased Shoppers as part of its acquisition of SuperValu in 2018, the company has closed more than 20 stores in the region! Public comments from the company have shown a lack of commitment to this market, their customers, and their employees.

This is no way to treat our union members and our communities. We’ve gathered hundreds of signatures on a petition to UNFI to call on them to keep our stores open.
