Last year, UFCW Local 400 members voted in favor of adjusting union membership fees and the final step in that change takes effect on September 28, 2025.
As part of the approved fee change, some rate adjustments occur in two increments: if your rate changed by more than $2.50 per week (or $10.00 per month), then the first adjustment began with $2.50 per week on September 29, 2024, and the remaining difference takes effect on September 28, 2025.
It is important to remember that 100% of your contributions go toward enforcing your union contract to protect you and your coworkers, organizing new members into our union, building our strength to bargain better contracts, and small administrative costs necessary to running our large organization.
We also launched a new Defense Fund to support our members in need. 50 cents per week of the new rate goes toward this fund, which allows us to build up a war chest that we can use to support members on strike and engage in other activities to pressure employers during collective bargaining. With this additional power, we can win better union contracts that put more money in your pocket and improve your benefits.
