Alliance Proposals for a Better Future
This week, the Alliance of Health Care Unions, of which UFCW Local 400 is a member, gave our first economic proposals to Kaiser Permanente negotiators covering wages, health insurance, retirement, education, union jobs, and more.

We’ve Reached Our First Four Tentative Agreements
The Alliance has reached four Tentative Agreements with Kaiser Permanente on key retiree and pension benefits:
- Additional retiree medical benefits for our retirees 85 and older
- Increased retiree medical benefits
- Improved retiree medical benefits for IUOE Local 99 (MAS)
- Improved pension benefit
These wins mark incredible progress already in just the first four days of bargaining, and are the direct result of our members’ unity, action, and ongoing engagement. This is an important first step and the earliest in national bargaining that we have ever reached mutual economic agreements. This is just the first step but we are off to a good start.
