Monday Rallies Canceled, Join our Tele-Town Hall Instead

We have reached a tentative agreement with Kroger on a new West Virginia contract that we, along with your bargaining advisory committee, are unanimously recommending for ratification.

After members voted overwhelmingly to reject Kroger’s last offer and authorize a strike, we sent a message loud and clear to Kroger. And it worked! We won the following improvements to Kroger’s offer:

  • More money invested in the contract, including wage scales
  • Improved hours-based pay scales with protection from pay reductions
  • No health and welfare cost increases for the life of the contract
  • Additional opportunities for paid sick time
  • Guarantee no union members’ hours will be reduced by vendors and temps

We are canceling the rallies planned for Monday, March 11 and will be holding a union meeting instead. Join us on Monday, March 11 at 4:00 p.m. for a Tele-Town Hall where we will review the proposed contract in detail. You can download a copy of the updated offer at the link below.

During the Tele-Town Hall, we will review the proposal in detail and answer any questions you may have. You must register to attend the Tele-Town Hall by filling out the form below.

Voting will take place at select stores from Tuesday, March 12 to Wednesday, March 13 to make it as convenient as possible for every member to vote. The voting schedule with dates and locations is below. Voting will not take place over the phone. If you are unable to attend the Tele-Town Hall, print copies of the company’s offer will be provided at each voting site and union reps will be available to answer your questions before you cast a vote.

Votes will be counted on Thursday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. and broadcast over Zoom video conference. UFCW Local 400 members working under the Kroger West Virginia contract may register to witness the ballot count over Zoom at the link below. The results of the vote will be announced immediately after ballots are tallied.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to us or talk to your shop steward or union rep if you have any questions.
