Over the last week, we had another round of contract negotiations with representatives from Giant and Safeway. We exchanged initial comprehensive proposals covering compensation, benefits, and working conditions.
We are far apart on almost every issue, but we are still early in the process and we know both companies have much more room to move toward an agreement.
We are continuing to work toward our goal of winning our best contract in years. Our goals are:
- Real Raises that Overcome Inflation
- Improvements to Health & Welfare
- Paid Sick Days
- More Vacation Time
- Better Hours & Scheduling
- Better Pension Benefits
- Safe Workplace
