Negotiations with Giant and Safeway on our next union contract are underway. So far, we have exchanged proposals on a number of issues and we have more sessions with both companies scheduled throughout the month before our current agreement expires on October 28.
Over the past two weeks, we’ve built up a Contract Action Team ready to fight for our best contract in years. Thank you to all of you who volunteered your time and joined us for one of our trainings. We need everyone to stay informed and be ready to take action for the contract we deserve.
With the companies succeeding more than ever, and after our work in the stores got them through a global pandemic, we are working to win our best contract in years. Our goals are:

- Improvements to Health & Welfare
- Paid Sick Days
- More Vacation Time
- Better Hours & Scheduling
- Better Pension Benefits
- Safe Workplace
We won’t win everything on this list. But without a united membership, we won’t win anything!
