After months of dragging their feet, Shoppers negotiators have finally agreed to new bargaining dates. We will be back at the table with them starting on October 12 and we have sent them a clear message that we expect them to come ready to make progress and get a fair contract done. Their continued delay tactics are unacceptable.
We are prepared to get back to work and negotiate a fair agreement that recognizes the hard work and sacrifices you have made on the front lines of this pandemic. But if Shoppers doesn’t get their act together and start taking these negotiations seriously, we will be ready to take action. As we continue to bargain and prepare to take action, your current contract remains on extension, as it has since July 2020 and all of the benefits and protections of that agreement remain in place.
