Since the overwhelming rejection of Kroger’s offer and approval of a strike last Friday, we have been back at the table with the company while also preparing for a strike, if necessary.

We met with Kroger again today. As we said with our strong, clear, message to Kroger with last week’s vote, we remain prepared to bargain for a fair deal, but we also are ready to act if Kroger continues to insist on putting our health care at risk as the COVID crisis continues to get worse.

We have additional representatives in stores to answer your questions, a strike center online to help you prepare, and have trained over 100 picket captains over the last two days. Our hope is that Kroger will do the right thing in bargaining and agree to a fair deal that respects the hard work and sacrifices we continue to make day in and day out. But we will be prepared if they do not.

We are scheduled to continue bargaining tomorrow and will continue to keep you updated every step of the way.
