For more than 30 years, the law firm of Ashcraft & Gerel, LLP has been offering union members and their families throughout the Washington, D.C. area the opportunity to alleviate the stressors that come with paying for the high cost of education.
Each year, the law firm awards a one-time grant of $5,000 to an eligible student for education expenses.
This year, Rebeka Berhane was honored as the recipient of this year’s grant. Rebeka will be attending Johns Hopkins University with a major in Molecular Biology this Fall. She is the daughter of Local 400 member Zufan Kefiu, a Starbucks manager at Safeway #1956 in Rockville, Md.
