We have negotiated with Kroger over Zoom, with federal mediation, for the past three days. We were hoping that this would result in real progress in getting the fair contract we deserve. Unfortunately, Kroger has continued to propose a deal that we would never recommend that you accept.
With the news this week that Kroger saw a first quarter jump of 19% in same-store sales and a 50% increase in operating profit, all while ending hero pay and as the COVID-19 crisis continues around the country, we know more than ever that we deserve a fair deal that meets our goals:
- Wages we can live on
- Schedules we can depend on
- Healthcare we can afford
- Retirement we can count on
Our current contract extension expires on July 11 and with the Fourth of July holiday weekend approaching, we are not going to wait to take action.
