On November 30, 2012, Thomas P. McNutt resigned his position as president of the Local Union to pursue a position at the UFCW International Union.  Mark Federici has assumed the duties of Local 400 president until the Local Union Executive Board votes on a permanent successor.
In response to former president McNutt’s resignation, Mark Federici made the following statement:

“The entire UFCW Local 400 family deeply appreciates the years of service Tom McNutt has given to this Local Union.  Tom has been a steadfast voice for the members of the Local Union and for workers everywhere. While we are sad to see him go, our loss is the International Union’s gain. We wish him all the best in his new position.
“I look forward to building on the strong foundation President McNutt leaves behind.  As the Local Union’s leadership changes hands, the entire staff and I will continue to work toward our primary goal of ensuring that the good wages and benefits of our members are protected and that our members receive the same high quality representation that the Local Union has always provided.”
