West Virginia AFL-CIO announces endorsement of
Rick Thompson for 2011 Special Gubernatorial ELECTION Charleston–Members of the West Virginia AFL-CIO State Committee on Political Education (State COPE) interviewed all candidates running in the Special Gubernatorial Primary who had completed the State COPE questionnaire.
Members of the State COPE, consisting of affiliated union members, debated and discussed the merits of each candidate prior to casting their vote. To garner an endorsement by the West Virginia AFL-CIO a candidate must receive a 2/3 majority of votes cast by members of State COPE.
Rick Thompson’s 100% voting record on working family issues in the State Legislature proved to the State COPE committee that he will best represent the concerns of West Virginia’s working families.
