Wednesday, the second day of trials in the Orange County Circuit Courts, Walmart dropped plans to build a super center on the historical site of The Battle of the Wilderness, which according to historians was a pivotal moment in the Civil War. This sudden change in Walmart’s plans is after a 2 year battle of their own with historians and the community. Though there are no concrete plans to build anywhere else in the county, Walmart spokesman William C. Wertz said they would seek another site in the area.
