Blacksburg, VA: Wal-Mart Forum
Updated On: May 05, 2010 (12:42:00)

UFCW Local 400 is collaborating with The Burg (community coalition) to prevent a Wal-Mart from being built in Blacksburg, Virginia.

The proposed Wal-Mart site will likely erode Main Street Blacksburg and its thriving local businesses.

Due to Wal-Mart's proximity to Margaret Beek's Elementary School, many residents express concern over the sale of guns and ammunition.

Join UFCW Local 400 Organizing Director Jim Hepner and other panelists this Thursday, March 20 at 7:00 PM to discuss Wal-Mart's impact on the Backsburg community.

Place: Virginia Tech, Smyth 146.
